don’t let the new year scare you.

Hello loves,

To be honest, when I think of starting a new year I am always excited and nervous at the same time. I’m sure I’m not the only one with these feelings, but that’s all it is…mere feelings. 99% of the time when you think about all the things there is to look forward too, the good outweighs the bad. I’m sure no one can tell me different. Every year when December comes around, the world goes crazy looking forward to the holidays and the new year, but besides that, we must always stay organized.

Why stay organized? Here’s why.

Truth be told, I’m my best when I am organized. When you are organized it means that you have a plan in order. Planning involves thought. And to be able to think things through we must set aside time out of our busy schedules to do so. So the first way to NOT let the new year scare you is to “Plan Things Out”. Plan out what you want to accomplish. Set goals for yourself that you want to achieve. Give yourself time to reach those goals. Have a book or journal to jot down your thoughts. This is a very intricate part of the organization process.

Next, think about what you have to look forward too. As for me, I have a lot of things to look forward too and as great as they are, they scare me a whole leap. My way of coping with being scared is again, noting thing down and thinking positive thoughts. I also advise that you bask in the moment of worry, fear, and anxiety.

Why should I bask in good anxiety?
You might ask…because it gives you something to work harder at. Too much anxiety will have you too stressed and it can cause a whole lot of other medical disasters so don’t take it too far.

Another reason why you shouldn’t let the new year get to you is because…It’s your fresh start! This is your time to change gears and steer the wheel in whatever direction you want. A new year, a new day, a better more reformed you. Many of us see this as an opportunity to try things a different way or take more risks. Why not keep your head in the game? A new year means looking at something, seeing there’s room for growth and making the necessary change.

Last thoughts aka READ THIS IF NOTHING ELSE!IMG_5056.JPGAs I wrote this post, I read it back to myself because I can attest that I am scared about what’s coming next year. Honestly, it’s not because I feel fearful I won’t accomplish my set goals, but because I just don’t know what to expect and I don’t want to make the wrong decisions. I have realized that fear can really alter the way you view things about yourself, making you overthink stuff more than you need to. Don’t let the new year make you fearful.

  • Look forward to new opportunities.
  • Embrace the process, because God got your back.
  • Work hard, play harder when it’s all over.
  • Don’t watch other people’s success, instead focus on your light at the end of the tunnel.
  • Pray daily. Write daily.
