Let’s talk about skincare.

Hey peeps. Welcome back. Yes, double the dose of posts for this week! Amazing? YES! Oh, and there’s a surprise at the end! [I tried to link some products for you guys!] To be honest, I never really thought of skincare as important because I always had good skin “great skin”, whatever that is right. I am not at all boasting when I say this. I was just fortunate enough not to have crazy break-outs, black marks, pimples, dark marks etc. However, that led me to feel inferior to taking care of my skin. That’s until I started to get older…(aka NOW) and I really try to do the essentials daily, “eat less junk”–chocolate & candy which is my weakness, make sure to watch my hands at all times before touching my face and just watch what I put on my face. Yeah, the essentials. I’ve recently been asked, “What is your skincare routine?” and I honestly didn’t know what to say exactly. The reason being I use so minimum of products throughout the week, …

Mixing Prints + Adulting.

Happy Tuesday Loves! Cheers to my 100th Blog Post! Can you believe that January is almost over? I mean, we are 29 days in and your girl is still shocked! I can only hope that you guys have had a wonderful + positive year so far and if you haven’t…make that change ASAP, a new month is approaching. Today’s post is about mixing prints…something I accomplished by just throwing things together! Before I get into that, let’s get a little chatty about the art of adulting, then I’ll talk about my mix print outfit. Let’s chat… Adulting 101 So as a young adult (a person in their mid-twenties) there are many things that I face in the eyes of family, friends, and co-workers. Let’s be honest, the pressures of life hit you hard after a certain age, but that doesn’t mean you throw in the towel and give up! I’m learning through different situations on a constant basis that 1. Only I can control my life, that includes my actions as well and 2. Life …

Beautify Acrylic Organizer: A must have!

On today’s blog, we’re talking all about acrylic organizers! Special news at the end of the post so stay tuned… Being the clean freak I am, it was only right that I have a makeup organizer. I’ve always admired this transparent acrylic makeup organizers because they are so stylish and aesthetically pleasing to me. I’ve had some in the past that I purchased off amazon for cheap, but they were mini-sized compared to the acrylic cube from Beautify! Don’t get me wrong, they did the job, but the cube organizers are way more spacious, and the drawers are taller which makes it better to hold larger makeup favorites like; powders, moisturizers, and foundations (seeing that my previous ones were too small and couldn’t hold them). The drawers can also be used to hold your face masks and other cute goodies and accessories you might want to show off/store. Pros Neat makeup storage Great quality, seems long lasting It’s acrylic so you’ll see your makeup and find them fast and easy Aesthetically pleasing for your room …

However, if you missed anything…you can click HERE and check out my past stories to catch up! Now let’s get into the main course. GLOSSY GANG, GLOSSY GANG. Let me re-introduce to my new readers who are clueless about GLOSSIER what it actually is. Glossier is a company that centers around Y(OUR) skin. They have beauty, makeup, and skincare products…along with fragrances! If you’re looking for makeup that’s really lightweight, try glossier. Like I stressed in my insta-stories, glossier makeup products were made to enhance our natural skin because they want us to love …

makeup look with Glossier.

Hey loves, Hope everyone is having a beautiful Sunday! This post is a little different today. If you been rocking with me you will know that I wrote a post called “glow with glossier” and I gave you guys my 5 favorite products, but I decided to try to do a full face of just using my glossier products + a few other favorites. I am not a makeup artist, but every now and then I like to practice the little skills I have obtained over time. So let’s get into the products I used from glossier. priming moisturizer (bomb product for the skin! I actually use it daily to keep my face moisturized after I get out the shower) the perfecting skin tint (very lightweight, but it saved me on some days where my face looked crazy) boy brow (ultimate fav!) cloud paint (another fav! I like it better than my blush from mac) haloscope in topaz (highlighter/glow yo face up!) Items not pictured: Pink lipstick from mac, an eyeliner from wet & wild, and …

glow with glossier.

Hey loves, Today’s post is all about G L O S S I E R ! Skincare + makeup = glossier ! I’ve been crushing on glossier for a while now and I’m super stoked to share with you some of my favorites as of right now! There are so many skincare/makeup companies out there, but being quite honest glossier is in my top 5 favorites. I’m an authentic person so if I don’t like something I would say it or I won’t even bother to promote it. At the end of my post is a surprise for you…stay tuned!  SO…with that being said let’s get this party started, shall we? Right now I’m loving 5 products from glossier. To be honest, I am no makeup artist plus I have 1,000+ things to still learn about getting the perfect “beat” face and I have fairly clear/smooth skin (until I eat loads of chocolate that is) so these products work for me.1. Let’s start with the Milk Jelly Cleanser. If you looking for a daily face wash …

girl gang.

So cliché to even have bought this t-shirt, but honestly it means so much more. There’s so much girls out there that are not believing in themselves, not loving what they see when they look in the mirror, girls who are just being put down by all the guys who cannot see their worth. This t-shirt represents those girls. I bought it because girls matter. ALL GIRLS. Every girl in every shade in the rainbow. It’s so sad to see that women are still being degraded and mistreated and devalued and underestimated! I say that every girl is beautiful and should know it. Always. re-affirm yourselves by saying: “I am beautiful. I am strong. I am intelligent. I am worth it. I am perfect. I am fearless. I am smart. I am wise. I am important. I am powerful. I am amazing. I am enough.” Do not ever let anyone ever tell you different. the look:skirt: ASOS | shoes: ZARA | Bag: ZARA | T-shirt: BOOHOO Photographer: Alberto Lima.

beauty in art.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of art? (I’ll give you like 5 seconds to think about it) TIMES UP! For me, art is in everything around us. I don’t think anyone can really be the judge of what you in yourself consider to be art. I say this because art is a form of expression. It’s literally your own perspective. Art is beauty and beauty is art. Anyways, let me get right into it. I had the opportunity to visit a solo exhibition of Rush Artist in Residence by Pamela Council called “Tenderheaded”. Just the title alone had me in deep thought and sparked some type of interest in me. What she describes this as is this, “To be a tender headed girl means having such a sensitivity to the experience of having one’s hair done, especially in protective styles, as to be stigmatized for it. Tenderheaded girls are the ones for whom the pain of beauty can be overwhelming.” To be quite honest, every black girl can relate …

burt’s bees is the ‘beesness’!

Y’all saw what I did there right…”Burt’s Bees is the ‘beesness’ as in “business” lol. Corny I know, but it truly is like one of my favorite personal care product lines. It has skincare products, beauty products, and everything else a girl DOES NOT need in her purse. Most importantly it is all NATURAL, no synthetic. This post I’ll give you guys a peek at my favorites that were personally sent to me by my friend Carlos over at Burt’s Bees! The Perfect Lip Balm Great for everyday use. Just throw em’ in your baggies and go! The Gloss   Honestly, I never knew lip glosses came in this form. I love them. The Lipsticks that smell delicious   N A T U R A L made lipsticks?! Yes, for 400 points! P.S the darkest shade is my favorite : ) The Skincare or ANTI-AGE Remedy Gave these to my momma because she wanted something for under her eyes. News came back that she loves it! Great combo and a great gift for her! (save $$$) …
